Katie Brown
Coach & Founder
As a teacher and coach, I have been in the field of education for 27 years.
In addition to helping clients rise to their potential through Strategies to Level Up, I’m also the Director of Visual Arts at Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, PA, and a senior faculty member at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, in their Pre-College Programs. I also earned an MA in Art Education from The University of the Arts.
Through the programs and curricula I’ve developed over nearly three decades, I am passionate about helping students and clients believe they can achieve anything they put their mind to, expand their capabilities, and be successful in middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
I have been recognized both locally and nationally for my positive impact on students:
One of 30 art educators invited to attend President’s weekend at Kansas City Art Institute in 2019
Named one of ten Teacher Advisors by Scholastic ART Magazine, chosen via national search in 2013-2014
Selected speaker for the National Art Education Association’s National Convention in 2012
Winner of Citadel’s Heart of Learning Award for “Non-Public Teacher of the Year” in Chester County in 2011
Winner of Citadel’s Heart of Learning Award for “High School Teacher of the Year” in Chester County from over 2,500 nominations in 2011
My vast experience working with students as an educator led me to establish Strategies to Level Up.
I help adolescents and young adults excel by guiding them to meet today’s demands at home and school.
Young adults today face myriad responsibilities, including homework, jobs, sports, extracurricular activities and events, college prep, friendships and relationships, and the struggle to find balance. They need individualized strategies and personal attention to help them develop organizational skills, time management abilities, study habits, and mindsets of responsibility and professionalism.
To enable clients to meet their goals, I offer two tracks of coaching programs: 1) Organization & Time Management for young adults (middle school through post-secondary), and 2) Art Portfolio Preparation for sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school.
In addition to meeting concrete goals – such as developing an art portfolio, homework trackers, or prioritized to-do lists – I also help young adults become more confident in their abilities and more capable of achieving their goals.
As a result of working with hundreds of young adults over the past 25 years, I have developed incredible insight into what tools they need in their toolbox to succeed today.
My approach is kind, positive, and supportive while adapting a personalized program that plays to each client’s unique strengths and learning style. I also inspire hard work and keep them accountable. Young adults need to be motivated to put in the effort and do the work. I help inspire them as well as teach the skill self-motivation so they know how to inspire themselves to take action.
It is an honor and privilege to work with my clients. Each one has incredible potential. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help my clients level up.
When empowered by the right tools, skills, and support, these young adults can rise to their own personal best by leveraging their own unique talents and abilities to thrive in their endeavors today – and in the future.
